Unlike existing LCD technology which has a backlight to emit light, the picture quality is never marred by the slim frame. AMOLED emits light at a very high rate, meaning no image ghosting or blurring in fast-moving scenes. In particular, utilizing an organism emitting light itself, AMOLED guarantees excellent visibility in during sunny days and clear picture quality at every angle.

River has also built Flash support into this new player. Don’t confuse this with flash memory — Flash content is found all over the Web in the form of games, videos and photo slideshows. The Clix 2 allows you to download this content directly to its memory for playback on the device. Does this mean YouTube videos can be downloaded and played back? Theoretically, yes. Practically, we’re not sure yet. A full review will reveal this secret and you can expect one soon.

The iriver clix gen-2 supports MTP mode for use with Windows XP (with Service Pack 1 or higher) and newer operating systems such as Windows Vista. The player can be converted to UMS mode for compatibility with Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 (MTP mode is not supported by these operating systems). The players contents will be erased when converting from MTP to UMS and vice-versa.
