The SF2000 comes in white or purple, two-toned with black. It’s also available in all black or silver. It’s not exactly widely available at this point, but the one store that does carry it is the one we all know and love: Newegg.com. They have a silver 256MB version for $87.99, and a 512MB version for $134.99. Unfortunately, that’s as high as it gets for capacity, and the price seems quite high for such small capacity.

The SF2000 has more features than you’d expect in a small MP3 player. I already discussed the lyrics display, but there is more. It doubles as a voice recorder, recording MP3 files at 128 kbps/44 kHz. It also has a built-in FM tuner and a Line Input. Not exactly groundbreaking features, but here’s the cool part; you can record from either the tuner or Line In, and encode them as MP3 on the fly. Although recording from Line In isn’t exactly the best way to copy music, there may be other uses for it that aren’t related to tunes.

Back to the top of the unit we see the MODE screen has been activated. This is done by pressing down on the joystick, and as an input device they are hard to be beat. You use it for everything from scrolling menu items, to setting the volume by moving it up and down, and to browse through songs forward and backward. The functions are indicated by small icons around the joystick itself. To the right of the joystick is an LED that is used to indicate the charge or as an indicator of operation mode. Finally we have a mic below the Sorell screen printing. Yes, in addition to listening to music you can record to the MP3 player. There is also a standard headphone jack, and a line in input with a connector cord included to the left of the Sorrel logo on the side.
