The MiniPlayer is full of features. It plays MP3, WMA, WAV, and Ogg Vorbis audio files, and it supports JPEG, BMP, and GIF photos as well as slide shows, for which you can adjust the various settings, including transition effects. You can also play back AVI videos. There’s also a built-in mic for voice recordings and an FM tuner with autoscan and 50 presets. Meizu even throws in a calendar, a stopwatch, and a calculator.

The Meizu M6 (aka miniPlayer) was a breath of fresh air for the DAP industry last year. Although the design and interface seemed like a love child of an iPod and Vision:M, it actually surpassed the clone title and made a name for itself. The Chinese company, Meizu is still going strong today. They are planning on bringing out an 8GB version of the M6 as early as March 1st.

The miniPlayer’s user interface is made up of a top pause/play/power button and a front hybrid touch and tactile pad. The pad has 4 tactile buttons: menu, return, forward, and back. The touch interface is a horizontal slide with a center tap to execute.

The Meizu Miniplayer M6 is stunning with its glossy white finish front and metal back. You really have to see it in person to get a grasp of how cool this player really is. While some would compare it to the Ipod Nano I like to think its actually better in terms of design. The player is dominated by 2.4″ screen compared to the Ipod Nano’s 1.5″ screen which leaves a lot areas bare while the M6 with it’s large screen and touch strip looks more proportioned.
