Sony E020 Walkman Lets You Match Your MP3 Player With Your Clothes

Sony’s E020 Walkman, the flash-based MP3 player for kids who like to coordinate their gadgets with their outfits, will finally hit U.S. shores in mid-June. The E020 features a colored three-line LCD screen and a built-in USB jack with drag-and-drop MP3 transfer system (no SonicStage this time around, thankfully). Its selling point is its swappable faceplate, which lets you change the music machine’s style to suit your mood.

The E020 can be found in 1GB and 2GB flavors, for $69 and $79 respectively, and comes bundled with premium earphones and a handful of faceplates to get you started. Additional faceplates will be sold separately for $12 each.

Sony Announces New Walkman Video MP3 Player Range

imageSony Electronics Asia Pacific introduces the latest additions to its Walkman family with the new Walkman NWZ-A820 and NWZ-A720 series. Available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB models, both series can store up to an impressive 62 hours of video or 3800 songs . Featuring a large, 2.4-inch QVGA LCD screen (320 x 240 pixels) that displays up to 262,144 colours, they deliver smooth, high-resolution video playback at up to 30 frames per second combined with vibrant and accurate colour reproduction. For greater flexibility, videos and images can be viewed in either a horizontal or vertical screen orientation to suit personal tastes. Implemented for the first time, the NWZ-A820 series also incorporates Bluetooth wireless technology, eliminating the inconvenience of wires while streaming tunes through devices with Bluetooth technology such as headphones, home and car audio systems. In addition, a conveniently placed button on the side of the player enables one-touch connection to these devices.

Sony NW-A910 TV Walkman

After the Video Walkman and the HD Video Walkman Sony is out with the TV Walkman, yes the NW-A910 series come with an internal one-seg TV tuner for watching digital TV. The service is limited to Japan only and with upto 16GB of flash memory you can record upto 16 hours of TV programming and with support for EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) you can program the device to record a particular TV program. One shortcoming is the small 2.4 inch display, come on Sony, TV is always better on the big screen a 3.5 - 4.0 inch screen would be ideal.

Sony Rolly, Music in Motion

Sony has launched an official site explaining the details of their peculiar egg-shaped music player, named the Rolly, which uses robot technology to move about while it plays music from its speakers on each end.

The sound production is particularly inventive, as the circular ends to the Rolly focus the music directly ahead to give a stereo sound, while the player vibrates bass through the surface it is making contact with. Controlling the device is done by rotating one the wheels. Selecting a specific function depends on whether music is playing or not, or if it is held in a horizontal or vertical position.
