The SV-SD300 is a SD card-only digital audio player. It comes without any solidstate memory, allowing to choose the SD memory card with the capacity which responds to the taste of the user. This slim player has an impressive battery life of 23 hours, and you can also hook up an external set of batteries, for even longer listening experience.

The Panasonic SV-SD300 MP3 player is an SD based Audio Player. It does not have any internal memory or hard disk for storing tracks, but instead uses an SD card (not supplied) to store the music on. The advantage of this is that you can add more memory by buying relatively cheap SD cards. The player will take SD cards up to 2Gb in size. It is now possible to get SD cards up to 4Gb, and no doubt in future even bigger SD cards will be available, but the maximum size supported by the player is 2Gb. By having multiple cards, the capacity is effectively unlimited.

Panasonic’s SV-SD300 is unusual for a number of reasons. For one thing it is supplied without any storage capacity whatsoever and for another it’s not an MP3 player as it converts your music files into a proprietary format.
The absence of any storage is easily explained as the player uses an SD card to store your music files, however Panasonic hasn’t seen fit to include even the meanest 256MB card, let alone 512MB or 1GB of storage, so you’ll have to budget £20 or so for a suitable piece of media.
