iriver P.ple P10 Goes Official

iriver presented a load of new players at CES this year and now another one of these has become official and available now in Korea. The iriver P.ple P10 is another technological marvel that may or may not ever see light outside of Asia.

The device has a 4" 800×480 touch screen, 33GB 1.3" HDD, flash lite support, internal speaker and TV out. It supports pretty much any video format you can throw at it including Xvid at up to 720×480 (DVD resolution) so the player should do wonders for watching videos. On the music front it does mp3, wma, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Wav and APE so it should be well covered there too. There’s also a pro version that features a DMB tuner, but that will definitely not make it to the US or Europe so all we can do is hope that the standard version will.  image

iRiver E100 MP3 player review

image It has long been thought that if anyone was likely to knock the Apple iPod off the MP3 top-spot that it would be iRiver. After all, the company has released more players in the last 4 years than just about any other company.
That said, the iRiver E100 has clearly been designed as a rival to the Creative Zen, with audio and enhanced video playback. In terms of size, it’s the same depth as a Zen but slightly narrower and longer. So, it comes as something of a shock to find the player generally feels bulky in the hand. It needs this depth to fit the 2.4-inch (QVGA) screen that is the main focus of the player.
The look is simple but the plastic used gives it a rather cheap and dull effect. It is available in a range of colours, including pink, brown and green. Beneath the screen you’ll find a four-way directional pad and enter button. With function lock and volume controls moved to the side of the player. It may not look or work as slickly as the iPod but it’s easy to navigate.

iRiver launches iPod Touch rival

image French manufacturer iRiver is said to be going up against Apple with its latest PMP launch.
The Spinn portable media player (PMP) has a 3.2-inch 480×272 pixel screen capable of displaying video playback at 30fps.
Memory capacities of up 16GB are mooted as well as Bluetooth 2.0 support, an FM tuner and mobile TV courtesy of DMB functionality, according to online reports.
However, it is the design that differentiates this new model from anything else out there at the moment.
The Spinn has what the manufacturer calls a "hinge" - which it claims makes one handed movie viewing more comfortable.
At the top of the hinge is a twisting knob which allows users to scroll through the Spinn’s menus.
There is no release date as yet nor prices but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we know.
