Genius launches GHP-05 headphones

image Genius released a premium headphone set Tuesday which reportedly offers a more ‘live’ listening experience thanks to a new 3D surround technology. The GHP-05 Live features an integrated DRD True 3D surround sound system said to enhance bass and dynamic range. According to Genius, the technology allows for pronounced low bass while delivering high treble levels along with well-defined vocals.

DRD’s True 3D sound allowed engineers to power amplifiers and speakers with precise echo phase control to improve audio range. Genius says its newest headphone is ideal for reproducing classical and vocal-heavy music.
The headset itself features swiveling, velvet padded ears. The GHP-05 set comes with a 3.5mm RCA converter, a 6.3mm gold plate adaptor and a 6.5-foot extension cable in addition to the integrated 6.5-foot cord to expand usability. The set requires two AAA batteries, which are included. Priced at $59, the set is currently available online.

Samsung P2 Going 16GB

image The Samsung YP-P2 is one of the most popular players these days, with a wide range of features including touch screen, an excellent widescreen, and Bluetooth. The only thing that has been holding it down is the capacity, as so far it’s only been available in 2, 4 and 8GB. Until now.

True to their word, the 16GB Samsung P2 is now on it’s way. That should be welcomed news for those who couldn’t make due with 8GB. The 16GB version will launch in Korea in a few weeks and hopefully the rest of the world will follow shortly. No word yet if there will be a 32GB, but knowing Samsung that is still way into the future.

Polaroid Announces Freescape 4360 60GB PMP

image Polaroid is most commonly known for instant film developing cameras, so even though we have seen a few products by them before, its still rather interesting to see them play in the PMP market.

The Freescape 4360 aka MPU-043315B is a 60GB WiFi enabled device with a 4.3" 480×272 screen. WiFi will allow it to stream music and video, which puts it in line with devices such as the Archos 605. Video formats are limited to MPEG4 and WMV, and with a battery life of only 16 hours for audio and 4 for video, it might have trouble keeping up. Still, it’s nice seeing that HDD players aren’t all dead. No word yet on pricing or release date, but from Polaroid’s previous record it will most likely be sold at Target.
