Sennheiser CX 400 in-ear headphones launch

image Sennheiser has launched the CX 400 in-ear headphones, that they describe as a "killer audio upgrade" for iPod, MP3 players or music phones.
Improving on the CX 300s, the 400s apparently offer improved bass, greater clarity, improved dynamics, balanced sound, exceptional comfort and "beautiful" detailing of all elements.
The new symmetrical short cord with right-angle plug makes the ‘phones ideal for use with mobiles and MP3 players with remote controls or microphones.
Available in high gloss black, white, silver, "Bordeaux" red and aqua and supplied with a one metre extension cable and three sizes of ear adaptors, as well as a carry pouch, the Sennheiser CX 400s will cost £54.99.
A lanyard design version also adds an integrated neck lanyard to hold a mobile phone or MP3 player.

MPIO’s MG300 portable media player gets official

image Remember that MG300 we peeked at IFA way back in September? Yeah, that little bugger is finally getting official, and there’s even a price and release date to go along with it. Just to bring you back up to speed, this one offers a 320 x 240 resolution display, up to 8GB of internal storage space, an SD expansion slot, eight equalizer presets, a built-in microphone, FM tuner, USB port and a rechargeable Li-ion to boot. As for file support, it will play nice with MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, JPEG, BMP, GIF and AVI, and software comes bundled in to convert a myriad video formats to the latter. Hang tight kids — this thing is slated to land next month for ¥10,980 ($97), ¥14,980 ($132) or ¥19,980 ($176), which will net you 2GB, 4GB or 8GB of capacity, respectively.

Gemei intros X590 portable media player

image Though we haven’t seen anything notable from Gemei in quite some time, the X590 is a solid choice to hit back with. Equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD, this portable media player supports MP3, AVI, DAT, WMA, APE, FLAC and FLV formats (among others), and apparently, it can also support emulation. Interestingly, we’re not told exactly how much storage this thing comes with, nor if it supports expansion via flash cards, but it’s got plenty of glossy black and chrome if that’s your bag. Look for it sometime next week for a currently undisclosed price.

Aigo rolls out Patriot P882 PMP

imageAigo’s certainly no stranger to nondescript PMPs, and it now looks to found room for one more in its increasingly crowded lineup, with its new Patriot P882 offer plenty of the usual features in a package that’s sure to stand out. Unfortunately, this one stands out for all the wrong reasons, as it apparently measures over an inch thick. On the upside, you will get a fairly hefty 80GB of storage, along with a "high-resolution" 4.3-inch touchscreen, A/V in and out ports, and a 2300 mAH battery that promises four hours of continuous video playback or 16 hours of music, not to mention support for just about every file format one could want. If for some reason you’re interest is still piqued, the device’s price will most certainly have you looking elsewhere, with it setting you back 3,999 yuan (or about $540).

JayBird reveals JB-100 Bluetooth stereo headset, iPod adapter

image Granted, you’ve got some options out there when scouting a new set of Bluetooth earbuds, but you won’t find us kvetching over a little competition in the totally unsaturated market. JayBird is stepping up to the plate with its stylish JB-100, which boasts a built-in microphone for handling handsfree calls, noise / echo suppression technology and 6.5-hours of talk time (5.5-hours when listening to jams). Additionally, the unit is said to be water resistant, and you’ll even get a handy charging dock and mesh carrying case should you choose to pick one up. For those clamoring for iPod / DAP support, you can snag one of two adapters (shown after the jump) — a Made for iPod version that plays nice with dock connector inputs and a vanilla iteration that plugs directly into any 3.5-millimeter audio jack. So, what’s all this kit going to cost? Try $129.99 for the headset and $49.99 apiece for the BT adapters, all of which are available right now.
