Yes it’s another iPod speaker dock to compete against the mountain already available on the market, so what makes Logitech believe this one will stand out from the already crowded crowd? We get listening to find out.
This time Logitech have played the portable card, although weighing in at 726 grams and measuring 9 x 33.5 x 4cm it’s going to take up a fair bit of space in your bag.
Size aside, the Pure-Fi Anywhere is a no fuss iPod dock that comes with four speakers, a docking station that will fit virtually every variant of the iPod, a battery life of around 10 hours, and a protective travel case to store it in.
With its glossy black design, the Pure-Fi is simple in its approach. The front is buttonless, instead just sporting the speakers. The base offers two swivel out metal stands for propping it up on your desk, while the top right-hand side of the unit sees a couple of shortcut buttons for power, adjusting shuffle and repeat and a Stereo XL mode to improve sound.

QDOS has announced the launch of a new iPod speaker set up, the Sound Frame, due out in July.
Made for the iPod touch in particular, it’s described as a "unique portable, lightweight and elegant speaker dock" that can also be used with the iPhone, and other ‘pods with the universal connector.
Offering something a little different design-wise, the Sound Frame can be rotated 90 degrees to suit video playback or used in the vertical position for bog standard music.
It docks and charges the iPod while it plays and can run off AC or battery power. Weighing in at 224 grams and measuring 130 x 130 x 29mm, it offers an output of 2 x 1.5 Watts.
Pricing and availability are to be confirmed closer to the device’s launch later in the summer so we’ll bring you more then.

If the Zune ever had a killer feature, it was its ability to squirt an audio file from one Zune to another effortlessly. Unfortunately, it was a killer feature utterly squandered by the addition of DRM. Enter miShare, a less elegant $99 solution for iPods, allowing you to easily squirt a song from one iPod to another.

The miShare is a dongle with two dock connectors: you simply select the iPods to the donor and receiver ports, select the song you want to transfer on the donor iPod, push a button and it squirts onto the other iPod. Even neater: you can exchange DRM-encrypted files, which will simply sit on your iPod’s disk area, unlockable with your iTunes password when you hook your iPod up to your computer.

The big Achilles heel here is transfer speed: miShare can transfern songs at about 500kb/s, which is slow enough to make transferring the entire contents of a 160GB iPod collection completely impractical. However, it is fast enough to transfer a few tracks in a minute, which seems like a good compromise between the conscionable and convenient.
